OT Services & Fees for individuals
We have 3 options available to help individual clients
Option 1:
1 hour private OT consultation by phone or a tool like skype.
Cost: £50
Suitable for:
- You are overwhelmed about the choice of products (for example, electric wheelchairs / riser recliner chairs) available and need to talk through the options and come up with some possible solutions.
- You need pointing in the right direction and it would help to talk through the situation you or a relative face with an expert. This could be from bathing issues to identifying how we help you gain independence in your home with appropriate equipment.
- You are ready to order that electric wheelchair, riser recliner chair or level access shower. You would like a final expert opinion before you go ahead. This might mean us talking through the prescription form, checking measurements, which cushion you have, or possibly looking at specifications/drawings to clear up any confusion you may have.
What you will get from us:
- Total impartial advice and guidance
- 23 years of product experience
Payment: Payment needs to be made before consultation. Any questions, please use the contact form below or give us a call.
Book now: Fill out the form at the bottom of the page with 2 preferred times and we will contact you within 1 working day. Many thanks.
Option 2:
In-depth consultation by phone or skype (will involve several calls over a period of time). We walk with you every step of the way!
Cost: £200-£300.
Most will be between £200-£300, however we have found that occasionally there are cases in which lots of extra research & time is required. The cost then could rise to a maximum of £350.
Suitable for:
- This is suitable for a client who wants a ‘full hands on’ approach from an expert. You want an occupational therapist to walk with you through the whole process from identifying and purchasing equipment (usually something like an electric wheelchair). You want to make sure you purchase the ‘right’ equipment and get the correct advice for you and your situation. You don’t want to liaise with a dealer because at times it’s difficult to know that the advice you are getting is impartial.
This is NOT suitable for a person with complex needs that will need an occupational therapist physically present.
For option 2 a family friend or member will always need to be present on the call. Option 2 will be as thorough as humanly possible without us actually being in the room with you.
Ideally you will have access to Skype or similar technology.
This is not meant to replace a physical OT assessment, but through some straightforward questions about you, your medical conditions, your goals, your property, your situation, we can together narrow down your search for the best type of chair/equipment suitable for your needs and within your budget and walk through the process with you.
What you will get from us:
I have outlined below the process using a powered electric wheelchair as an example.
- A thorough discussion of your needs (skype/phone) and your goals
- We identify wheelchairs that will be suitable for you, your environment and within your budget. (We will ONLY recommend equipment we know comes from reputable manufacturers)
- We identify locally if there is a shop for you to go and try the recommended wheelchairs or you may have an Independent Living Centre nearby.
- We identify local suppliers that stock the recommended wheelchairs
- We will contact on your behalf the dealer/shop explain your situation and request that they obtain the recommended wheelchairs for you to trial. We will arrange a time for you to go and see them. Hopefully this prevents any hard sell and means the dealer knows you have an OT going through the process with you.
- Once you have tried the chairs, we go through your findings in terms of comfort etc
- We can arrange a quote from the dealer and go through that with you.
- We will go through the prescription form (a prescription form lays out all the different options a chair has, i.e seat size, cushions, leg rests etc) for your chair and decide together if you are happy with it and understand what is on it. We can talk to the dealer about all the small but important details such as warranties/break down cover, insurance etc
- We can liaise with the dealer any questions or issues pre-sale
- If you are happy, you can order your electric wheelchair.
- We will follow up to make sure you are happy with your chair.
- A comprehensive report that outlines all that has been discussed.
- Total impartial advice & guidance.

We do our utmost to make sure based on the information you give to us that our advice is correct. We are not responsible for a change of mind or if you decide you don’t like your wheelchair/equipment. Our service is to try and be as helpful as possible and make sure you get the right advice.
Our recommendations are based on the information that you supply at the time of the consultation.
A lot of ‘good’ wheelchairs are configurable and the set up can be altered if your needs change in the future.
Payment: Before purchasing this option, please fill out the form below or give us a call. This is a substantial payment so we need to make sure its the right option for you before we process your payment.
